Texas 69, UCLA 59

Saturday afternoon at the Los Angeles Sports Arena, the Texas Longhorns defeated the UCLA Bruins 69-59. After falling behind throughout the 1st half of the game, Texas guards J'Covan Brown and Myck Kabongo took over, leading the Longorns on a 20-7 run to begin the 2nd half of play. Brown finished with 22 points on 9-15 shooting, while Kabongo scored 13 points to go along with 8 assists. Seniors Alexis Wangmene and Clint Chapman also logged notable performances, with Wangmene scoring 8 points in 24 minutes and Chapman collecting 6 points and 7 rebounds in 19 minutes. Overall, the Longhorns shot an impressive 54.7% from the field and even managed to outrebound UCLA despite yielding 17 offensive boards to the Bruins. Texas improves its record to 5-2 and now has its 1st big win of the season under its belt.
