Texas 77, Temple 65

Saturday afternoon at the Erwin Center, the Texas Longhorns bested the Temple Owls 77-65 behind a strong 2nd half effort and exceptional guard play. J'Covan Brown scored 23 points and Myck Kabongo added 18 points as the Longhorns' backcourt duo continuously found their way to the rim against the Temple typically-stout defense. Freshman forward Jaylen Bond enjoyed his best game of the season thus far, scoring 12 points on 6-7 shooting and grabbing 8 rebounds along the way. Texas as a team outrebounded Temple 46-20, led by Clint Chapman collecting 13 rebounds in his best rebounding effort of the season. It wasn't expected for this year's Longhorn team to be winning rebounding battles against anyone, so it's been a pleasant surprise to see the Horns doing just that game after game as of late. The Longhorns improved their record to 9-2 and will be traveling to Chapel Hill to play the mighty North Carolina Tar Heels on Wednesday evening.
